Fire Safety Training Courses

Effective fire safety training is essential for many employees. This is because fire can destroy lives, close businesses and put a tremendous strain on the health and welfare of those affected by it.

From initial Fire Risk Assessment through to delivery of Fire Safety Training courses, Howard James Training will deliver courses aimed to help you comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

 

Howard James Training has a range of courses, usually deliverable on your premises (to minimise disruption) that will ensure your staff and key personnel are aware of their responsibilities in the prevention of, as well as in the event of a fire.

Our fire safety training courses include:

- Fire Safety Awareness (1/2 day)

- Level 2 Fire Safety (1 day)

 

Course Breakdown

Fire Safety Awareness (1/2 day)

This qualification is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters, where a basic understanding of fire safety is required. Topics include:

- basic fire safety and what to do in the event of an emergency,
- the principles of fire risk control and practical fire safety.
- practical use of fire extinguishers.

Level 2 Fire Safety (1 day)

This qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace.  This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.   Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of fire in any premises. Topics include:

- hazards and risks,
- the control of fire risk,
- principles and practice of fire safety management at work
- the role of the nominated fire warden and
- practical use of fire extinguishers.

N.B. Fire Risk Assessment is not one of the courses that we provide, as this should be done by a competent person.  We can however, provide you some assistance in understanding your responsibilities and even signpost you to our sister companies that carries out the assessments and supplies and services fire extinguishers and alarm systems.
